Certainly a different and forthright title.

An Australian animated film, 2-D, bright colours, exaggerated, comically styled, with music, plenty of ambiguous humour, and, in the film as well for a quest, a flagship for queer comedy. Clearly, a great deal of enjoyment for the gay and lesbian community – and it can be seen as a cheeky challenge to those who are wary and to those who do not approve.

There is a great deal of voice talent in the various female characters, and, in the humour of the group of four, the White Straight Maliens, all looking like Casper the friendly ghost, continuous oddball debating between themselves, often very funny when they appear.

However, the central character is Saira, considered the dullest Princess in the galaxy, reserved, awkward, difficulty in relationships, encountering some musicians, but, finally, going in quest to rescue Kika from her captivity by the Maliens, with her swagger, almost the opposite of Saira.

So, a range of oddball characters, adventures in space, a personalised ship with the voice of Richard Roxburgh, combat, disappointments, self-assertion, happy ending.

The film won the long-standing Teddy Award for LGBTQI+ films at the 2025 Berlin film Festival.
