Sr Katarina Kauongo and Sr Touna Tirinteiti: 60th Jubilee Jan 1966 25th Jubilee Jan 2001
Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart celebrated two significant jubilee. Mass at the Cathedral Teaoraereke.
Sr Katarina Kauongo celebrated her Diamond Jubilee (60 years - 12th January1966)
Sr Touna Tirinteiti celebrated her Silver Jubilee ( 25 years -15th January 2001).
The Mass was presided by His Lordship Bishop Simon Mani MSC and con celebrated by his brother priests. His Lordship thanked the two sisters for their witness in living the gospel values. He said 60 years of religious life is significant and thanked Sr Katarina for her perseverance and faith.
He also took the opportunity to express gratitude to the OLSH sisters for their missionary efforts especially in the Kiribati province and those who are serving in other parts of the Pacific and beyond.
The President , Vice President, MPs, the Australian High Commissioner, Mayor's, OLSH Sisters, parishioners from Bikenibeu, Teoarareke and Parishes attended the Mass. The 3 parishes also led the liturgy.
