Randwick parish, some photos

Mission Office appeal with Roger Purcell MSC
When the first MSC Missionaries to PNG landed in Sydney, 1885, the archbishop, Cardinal Moral, offered the parish as a base in Australia.

MSCs have been in Randwick for 140 years, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart parish.

With senior parishioner, Phyllis, 99.
Last century, the parish took on the care of St Margaret Mary’s, North Randwick.

As with many parishes in these times, the two parishes have recently been united as Sacred Heart parish Randwick. In the photos are some of the MSC at Randwick, Pat Mara, parish priest, Michael Nithan and Trieu Nguyen, soon to be ordained deacon in the parish church.
