Sister Valerie Donovan FDNSC
January 11th, our beloved Sister Valerie Donovan peacefully returned to her loving God.
Born on the 15th of September 1924, Sr Valerie made her Profession as a Daughter of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart on the 2nd of July 1946. Throughout her life, Sr Valerie faithfully lived as a Daughter enriching all those she served.
Sr Valerie will be deeply missed by her Sisters, Family, and all those whose lives she so lovingly served.
May our dear Sister Valerie now rest in the eternal peace of the God she loved and served so faithfully and rise in glory with Christ.
Sister Margaret Reis FDNSC
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the death of Sr Margaret Reis, who passed away peacefully at the age of 92.
Sr Margaret gave many years of faithful service to the Church in the Northern Territory. From 1961, she served within the Diocese of Darwin across Alice Springs, Santa Teresa, East Arm and Daly River, with Alice Springs being her final appointment. While her ministry included periods of service in the southern states, her long commitment to the life and mission of the Territory was a defining part of her vocation.
Through her care for the OLSH communities, as well as her parish visitation and volunteer work with the St Vincent de Paul Society, Sr Margaret lived a life of quiet generosity, humility and service to others.
