UNITED IN FAITH AND HARMONY

20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SYDNEY CATHOLIC INDONESIAN COMMUNITY

11TH NOVEMBER, 2012

On Sunday 11th November, 2012 Fr. Benedictus, (Rolly), Untu, MSC, the Provincial Superior of Indonesia presided at a packed St. Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney the 20th anniversary celebration mass of the Sydney Catholic Indonesian Community, (CIC).

The mass was celebrated in Bahasa Indonesia and the homily was delivered by Fr. John Mulrooney, MSC – Provincial Superior of Australia in English. The theme that the CIC wanted to celebrate this year was, “United in faith and Harmony”, which was very evident in the way the congregation celebrated together at the mass and in the energetic celebrations which followed.

There was a lot of youth and vitality in the celebrations with the promise of a bright future for the community coupled with a real reverence for the gifts that the community has realised over the course of the last twenty years in the Sydney region. There were five different Sydney regional groups that came together as one on Sunday, namely; CIC Newtown, CIC Kensington, CIC St. Peter Julian, CIC Penant Hills, CIC Campbelltown, CIC Chatswood. The groups don’t see themselves as independent groups but all united as one in faith and that is what makes it all work. Some call it “Unity and Diversity” and the CIC like to see themselves as all this but wrapped up in faith and harmony.

Congratulations and Blessings CIC

dan Terima kasih Tuhan memberkati.
