ABBAYE, Belgium. The Belgium Province held its Provincial Chapter from March 25 until March 28, 2008. During the chapter Fr. Andre Claessens MSC was re-elected as provincial for another term of three years. Fr. Faustino Fernandez Garcia MSC, Assistant General attended the chapter.

Father Adrian Meaney has been made a Companion of the Order of the Star of Melanesia by the Government of Papua New Guinea. The award was made in recognition of his many years of pastoral work in Port Moresby and his current work as Director of the MSC Mission Office in Australia.

Early this Good Friday Fr Paul Power passed away at St Joseph’s the OLSH Nursing Home is Sydney . Until recent times he had been in good health but he was anointed on Holy Thursday.

For some years he has suffered from severe dementia. And after carrying such a cross he dies on Good Friday.

conollyFather Cyril Connolly was born on 10th February 1929, the second child of William Michael Connolly and Cecelia (McNamara). In the family there were two other boys and three girls, two of whom are still living.

bedeBede, as he was known, was born at Drummoyne, NSW, on 20th February 1921, the second child of Augustus Mooney and Katherine (McCarthy). After his ordination in Melbourne, on 27th July 1947, he spent four-years at Chevalier College, Bowral. Then he was appointed as Provincial Secretary and Provincial Bursar and was to be based at the Kensington Monastery for 15 years.
