Jesus loved with a human heart: with him we proclaim his love to the world.
We work to discover through advocacy, healing and reconciliation, God's presence in our world.
We are to be on earth the heart of God. God has no other heart but ours.

The Irish Province of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart is pleased to announce the election of Fr. Joseph McGee MSC as its next Provincial Superior.
Fr. Joe will succeed the present Provincial, Fr. Patrick Courtney MSC, some time later this year at a date to be determined by the Provincial Chapter that will take place in May. Fr. Pat has been Provincial since 2005.
Fr. Joe, who is 50 years of age and is from Convoy, Co. Donegal, made his First Profession of vows as an MSC in 1979 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1986. After completing postgraduate Theology studies in Rome Fr. Joe began his ministerial life in the Parish of Wappenbury in Warwickshire, England where he was also School Chaplain at the MSC-founded Princethorpe College. He has since ministered in a variety of settings in England and Ireland: in parishes, schools, formation, local community leadership and Provincial administration. For the last five years he has served as Deputy Provincial to Fr. Pat.
Speaking of the election of his successor, Fr. Pat Courtney said, “I am extremely pleased that the members of our Province have elected Joe McGee to succeed me as Provincial Superior of the Irish Province later in the year. Joe will bring to his new responsibility great expertise and a wide-ranging experience of different ministries in the Province. Joe is a man steeped in MSC charism, spirituality and mission. I have the utmost confidence in him to undertake the responsibility of leading the Province for the next six years. I congratulate him on his election and appointment. I wish him every success and blessing.”
Fr. Joe said, “I am very happy to take on this responsibility that has been entrusted to me by the members. I believe whole-heartedly that the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart have a unique contribution to make to the life of the church and to the wider Christian community. I feel privileged that I have been asked to facilitate this on-going contribution in the years to come.
“I am conscious of my own limitations but I know I can rely on the support and the help of my fellow MSCs and the prayers and goodwill of our benefactors to help me in this task that has been entrusted to me.”
Speaking on behalf of the staff of the Provincial Administration, the PA to the Provincial, Paula Ryan Kavanagh said, “We are absolutely delighted with the news that Fr. Joe will be the new Provincial. I have worked with him for the last two and a half years and know that he is well suited to the role of Provincial. I wish him every success and happiness during his term of office. Fr. Pat will be sorely missed by all of us in the Provincial House when he leaves us later in the year.”
