Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, an Australian community, in a worldwide religious congregation.
Jesus loved with a human heart: with him we proclaim his love to the world.
We work to discover through advocacy, healing and reconciliation, God's presence in our world.
We are to be on earth the heart of God. God has no other heart but ours.

With the beginning of the Academic Year, Susan Richardson PBVM welcomed visitors to the Heart of Life Spirituality Centre in Melbourne for the Opening Ceremony in February.
The Heart of Life Spirituality Centre is an MSC ministry. It was established in 1983 by Brian Gallagher MSC who had been investigating the possibility for a centre of spirituality, given the number of religious orders who had their houses of study in Melbourne. The centre has offered many seminars over the decades but specialises in training programs in spirituality and spiritual direction.
A part-time Spiritual Leaders course has been well attended for many years. CPE training was also available with Paul Castley MSC.
However, the core of the centre is Siloam, a course for Spiritual Directors which can be taken full-time or part-time. Brian Gallagher began Siloam at Kensington, Sydney, in 1979. It came to Melbourne when he was appointed Superior of the student house at Croydon in 1980. It has continued every year since 1982. Twelve MSC priests have completed the course over the decades (including one from PNG and another from the Philippines), three OLSH sisters (including from PNG) and one MSC sister. This year Dominic Gleeson MSC is doing the Siloam program.
The director of Heart of Life is Sister Susan Richardson PBVM (Lismore). She succeeded Brian Gallagher when he became provincial in 1993. When Sue became her community leader, the direction of Heart of Life was undertaken by Cheryl Bourke PBVM (Melbourne). At the end of her term, Sue became director again.
Peter Curry MSC works part-time as secretary at Heart of Life. Seminars are offered by Philip Malone MSC and Peter Malone MSC amongst many others, religious and lay.
The present location of Heart of Life (after years in Surry Hills, Canterbury and Wantirna) is at the former Discalced Carmelite house in the grounds of St Paschal's Franciscan community in Box Hill, a more spacious house (which can include some accommodation) than the previous centres.
