FRANCISCO BELTRÃO, Paraná, Brazil
On March 25, 2011, on the Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord, our confrere, Fr. Agenor Girardi, MSC, was ordained Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Porto Alegre. He was ordained by Bishop José Antonio Peruzzo, Bishop of Palmas – Francisco Beltrão, Archbishop Dadeus Grings, Archbishop of Porto Alegre and Bishop Fernando Panico, MSC, Bishop of Crato.
Altogether, there were 24 bishops present in the ordination. Mgr. Agenor Girardi was born in Orleães, Santa Catarina on February 2, 1952. He entered the minor seminary in 1966, and the Novitiate in 1978. He made his first profession on February 2, 1979 in São Paulo. Bishop Agostinho José Sartori ordained him priest on September 5, 1982.
He chose “Ametur Cor Jesu” as his motto.
